A Food Lover’s Journey from Dosa to iPhone 14 Plus

Among fast foods, dosa is my favorite. I also like chat, gupchup, and idli, but I don’t like chowmein, samosa, momo, bora, puri, patties, and rolls, so I avoid eating those. Among cold drinks, lassi is my favorite, and among chocolates, Dairy Milk is my favorite.

In terms of food, naan with paneer butter masala is my favorite. I also enjoy chicken biryani, paratha, kulcha, pizza, and burgers. 

When it comes to fruits, I like all kinds such as apple, mango, banana, grapes, etc. However, the mangoes from our home’s mango tree are my favorite because they are extremely sweet. Anyone who has tasted them never forgets. The taste is so amazing that it’s hard to describe; you need to taste it yourself to understand if I’m speaking the truth or not. When that mango tree was planted, my mother had added jaggery, which is why she says they are so sweet.

Among vegetables, I like munga alah, kusla ala, and kasari alah. You might not understand these vegetables because we refer to them by these names in our Santali language. I only like desi chicken curry, and duck curry is my favorite. I don’t like mutton curry, so I don’t eat it. I like the smallest fish and the biggest fish, but I don’t like medium-sized fish curry.

In Santali language, we refer to a type of food as 'how,' which looks like an ant and is red in color. If you eat rice with this , the taste is incredible—words can’t describe it properly.

I like smartphones from Oppo, Vivo, and Apple, but I don’t like Samsung smartphones. No matter how many features Samsung phones offer or how good their phones are, I won’t buy them. However, I do like Samsung keypad phones but not their smartphones.

My first smartphone was an Oppo A37 F, which my elder brother bought for me, costing around 10,000 rupees. The camera was very good, producing excellent photos and videos, but the zoom quality was not great. Since I attend stage programs and upload videos to YouTube, I needed better zoom. 

After that, I bought an Oppo A52 for 16,000 rupees, which provided 4K video recording and good zoom quality without any loss. I bought this smartphone with my collected pocket money and my female best friend contributed 6,000 rupees because I only had 10,000 rupees, while the phone cost 16,000 rupees. She was able to help me because she received a scholarship. I returned the money to her after a long time, once my first YouTube payment came in. I bought the phone, but no one at home knew because I stayed in the college mess and took my old phone home, so they were unaware.

Later, when 5G smartphones came out, I wanted to buy one. By then, my first phone had broken, so I informed my family and asked for money to buy a new smartphone and got the Oppo A74 5G. You might wonder what happened to the Oppo A52 that I bought with my pocket money. I sold that phone on OLX, and no one at home knew I had bought another phone. The new 5G phone also had the same problem of zoom quality loss, which made me realize that just having 5G wasn’t enough. 

So, I decided to buy a phone that would have good zoom quality and 5G. I chose the Oppo Reno7 Pro 5G, which I bought for 40,000 rupees with my own money from YouTube payments. 

After a while, as I started receiving regular payments from YouTube, I thought of getting an iPhone and bought the iPhone 14 Plus during Flipkart’s Big Billion Sale, selling the Oppo Reno7 Pro. 

Now, I am using the iPhone 14 Plus, which has excellent video quality. I am considering buying an iPhone Pro Max series next; let’s see if I manage to get one.
